Mark your calendars, TIFF announces dates

TORONTO -- Movie-lovers, mark your calendars: next year's Toronto International Film Festival will run Sept. 5 to 15.

The event will mark the 38th edition of the festival.

Festival artistic director Cameron Bailey noted in a statement that the 2013 dates "unfortunately overlap with both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur."

He said the fest will attempt to schedule repeat screenings to accommodate those observing the Jewish High Holy days.

This year's fest was attended by more than 400,000 members of the public and featured 147 world premières.
