An official opening of the 1,400-seat Event Centre at Club Regent Casino has yet to be scheduled, but four artists have already been lined up for concerts in the spring.

Huey Lewis and the News, whose hits like If This Is It, Hip To Be Square and The Power of Love, regularly found spots in the Billboard Top 10 during the 1980s, will perform two shows, May 19 and 20, at the casino venue.

On May 30, Irish crooner Daniel O’Donnell, whose popular PBS specials are a fixture during its pledge weeks, performs with special guest Mary Duff.

Tickets for the three shows range from $65 to $85 and are available through Ticketmaster.

Mississippi rockers Three Doors Down will bring its acoustic Songs From the Basement tour to the Event Centre on June 10. Tickets range from $50 to $70 and are also available through Ticketmaster.

The next evening, June 11, country artists Lorrie Morgan and Pam Tillis team up for a stop on their Grits & Glamour tour. Tickets range from $30 to $40, also through Ticketmaster.

An official opening of the Event Centre is in the works, said a Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries spokeswoman, but no details have been firmed up yet.
