Coolio, Panther Burns and Fubar stars coming to Pyramid

The Pyramid Cabaret has announced a string of shows ranging from a hip-hop team to heavy-metal hosers.

It’s east meets west when Queens, N.Y., hip-hop duo the Beatnuts — JuJu and Psycho Les — team up with Los Angeles group Tha Alkaholics and perform as the Liknuts on Sept. 25. Tickets are on sale now for $25.50 at Ticketmaster.

A few weeks later Coolio, best known for his 1995 hit Gangsta’s Paradise, will be at the downtown club on Oct. 8. Ticket information wasn’t immediately released.

Rockabilly wildman Tav Falco and his band Panther Burns are still roaring more than 30 years after forming and will be at the Pyramid on Oct. 11. Tickets go on sale Tuesday for $21.50 at Ticketmaster.

And when it comes to fictional Canadian heavy metal-loving hosers, no one can top Terry and Dean — David Lawrence and Paul Spence — from the mockumentaries Fubar and Fubar 2: Balls to the Wall, who will be at the Pyramid on Oct. 25. There was no information about what they would be doing, but when they were last here several years ago, following the release of Fubar in 2002, Spence’s band Creeper performed and the long-haired duo hosted a heavy-metal karaoke party.

Tickets for the show go on sale Tuesday for $24.50 at Ticketmaster.
