The Winnipeg International Jazz Festival comes to the Free Press News Café this week with daily live interviews and nightly performances.
Kicking off a week of great music, we'll talk with Suzie Vinnick and Treasa Lavasseur, two great blues singers and musicians about their gigs this week at the King's Head Pub. Some chat and some music get underway at the News Cafe (237 McDermot Avenue) at 11 a.m. Monday. You can also watch the interview and performance live at winnipegfreepress.com.
Monday night, come to the News Café to hear Winnipeg-based jazz vocalist Joanna Majoko's unique blend of traditional and contemporary jazz, with a dash of soul tossed in for good measure. Tickets are $15.
The Jazz Festival is on all week at the News Cafe. For more information about the shows or to purchase tickets, please visit http://jazzwinnipeg.com/.
