Presley, Houston tribute artists coming to town

The spirits of Elvis Presley and Whitney Houston will be revived in a pair of concerts by tribute artists in Winnipeg later this year.

On Feb. 1, Adam Fitzpatrick, who was the runner-up in the 2013 World’s Best Ultimate Elvis Contest in Memphis, Tenn.,and champion at Elvis contests in San Diego and Penticton, B.C., will perform at the Pantages Playhouse Theatre.

Fitzpatrick and his band, the Cadillac Kings, will be joined by Joe Kelso, who will perform the hits of Roy Orbison. Tickets, which cost $42.95, are available through Ticketmaster.

And on May 7 at the Burton Cummings Theatre, the Whitney Houston Show, starring South African singer Belinda Davids, will pay homage to the late singer, who died in 2012 prior to the Grammy Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Tickets, from $56.75 to $67.25, are available through Ticketmaster.
