Dauphin’s Countryfest will mix performers at the top of the charts with blasts from its 25-year past when next year’s event kicks off June 26.
Blake Shelton, whose latest album Based on a True Story... rocketed to No. 1 on the country charts shortly after its release in March, will headline the Countryfest’s mainstage on Saturday, June 28, organizers said Monday at a press conference in Winnipeg.
"Blake is probably one of the biggest headliners we’ve ever had," said promoter Rob Waloschuk.
Other confirmed acts announced Monday are the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Rascal Flatts, Deric Ruttan, the Kentucky Headhunters, Blackjack Billy, The Band Perry, Jordan McIntosh, Lee Brice, Brett Kissel, Tim Hicks, Aaron Pritchett, Jaida Dreyer and the Mavericks.
Tickets and camping passes go on sale Nov. 18 at 9 a.m. at the festival’s website, countryfest.ca, by phone at 1-800-361-7300 or in person at the Countryfest office in Dauphin, 28 2nd Ave. NE.
