Teens organize WECC shows for up-and-coming musicians
THE future of Winnipeg’s music scene is ready for its closeup.
A new series of events, Ready or Not Showcases, aims to put together regular gigs with young bands featuring teenage members. The first show is May 18 at the West End Cultural Centre featuring Of Unsound Minds, Thursday’s Forecast and Cruel Society. Tickets are $8 at the WECC.
This programming is being organized by sisters Randi and Ricki Bushie-James, aged 16 and 17 respectively, as part of the WECC’s community arts partnership program.
