The Phil hits the road for 90th-anniversary shows

On the heels of two sold-out performances, the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir is hitting the road for two more shows in its 90th-anniversary season.

The Phil, Western Canada’s longest-established choir, will perform at the Southern Manitoba Convention Centre in Morris on Sunday, March 17, at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 (senior/student $20) in advance and $30 ($25) at the door and available by calling 204-746-2832 or 1-866-746-2832 or online at www.sm-cc.com.

The choir will also perform at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre (3030 Notre Dame Ave.) on Sunday, March 24, at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and available at www.nbardal.mb.ca or by calling 204-949-2200. All proceeds to Winnipeg Harvest. Donations of non-perishable food items are welcome.

Under the direction of artistic director Yuri Klaz, both concerts will feature some of the Phil’s most popular selections from its diverse repertoire, including classic works by Mozart, Mendelssohn, Faure and Brahms, along with more modern fare by Andrew Lloyd Webber and traditional folk songs.
