Tune-Yards, Dan Deacon to open for Arcade Fire

  • Print

Tune-Yards and Dan Deacon have been announced as the support acts for Arcade Fire’s Aug. 14 show at the MTS Centre.

Tune-Yards, the brainchild of New England experimentalist Merrill Garbus, is touring in support of its third full-length album Nikki Nack, which was released in May to near-universal acclaim. Rolling Stone called Garbus "an innovator in it for the long haul."

Tune-Yards will perform only on the Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton dates.

Electronic composer Dan Deacon, who put on pre-show dance parties during the first North American leg of Arcade Fire’s Reflektor tour, will be teaming with the Montreal indie rock titans again for all their upcoming dates.

Tickets for the show are still available at Ticketmaster and range from $38.50 to $81.25, plus fees.
