Artists' music sales spike after Junos
CANADIAN artists saw a boost in digital and album sales after the 2012 Juno Awards ceremony, some with an increase of at least double, according to a CTV news release.
Feist, who took home artist of the year honours, saw her album sales grow 100 per cent, while sales for Lights, City and Colour, and Dan Mangan all rose by at least 50 per cent since the April 1 ceremony recognizing the best in Canadian music.
Online sales also have increased significantly for several artists.
Simple Plan, which performed at the gala, saw online sales of the track Summer Paradise skyrocket 182 per cent. City and Colour's sales also witnessed a dramatic increase of 104 per cent for their track, The Grand Optimist.
A number of artists across a broad range of genres benefited from the boost in digital sales, including folk-rockers Blue Rodeo, DJ deadmau5, and rock bands Hedley and Nickelback.
