THE Polaris Music Prize will release 500 collector vinyl singles that will have songs from the 10 albums on its shortlist for the 2013 awards.

Starting Sept. 14, selected retailers in Canada and the U.K. -- HMV outlets in Winnipeg -- will have the singles, which will be given out with the purchase of a Polaris shortlisted album.

Songs from Tegan and Sara, A Tribe Called Red, Zaki Ibrahim, Whitehorse, Purity Ring, Colin Stetson, Metric, Young Galaxy and Metz will be on the multicoloured seven-inch records.

Each Canadian location will hold a draw on Sept. 14 with a winner to receive all five records in the collection.

The Polaris Music Prize gala takes place in Toronto on Sept. 23.
