Film & Music's Vivier gets Queen's Jubilee Medal

CAROLE Vivier, CEO of Manitoba Film & Music, has been named a recipient of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal in honour of her behind-the-scenes work to help build film and music industries in Manitoba for the past 22 years.

Gov. Gen. David Johnston awarded Vivier with the medal, created to mark the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the throne.

"We are thrilled that Carole is receiving the recognition and accolades she so greatly deserves," said Manitoba Film & Music board chairwoman Alana Langelotz, citing Vivier's "unwavering commitment to the music and film industries throughout the province.

"The success of these industries is due in large part to Carole's leadership and vision," Langelotz said.

Vivier was nominated for the award by Senator Janis G. Johnson.
