Folk fest earlybird tickets go on sale March 16

EARLYBIRD tickets for the 40th Winnipeg Folk Festival will go on sale March 16, festival organizers announced Thursday.

The earlybird sale begins at 11 a.m. March 16 -- the same day the festival announces its lineup for the July 10-14 extravaganza -- and ends April 30.

Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster or in person at the Winnipeg Folk Festival Music Store at 211 Bannatyne Ave. Business hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The folk fest also announced Thursday that Dan Bern, a singer-songwriter who has performed and taught his craft across North America, will make his first appearance at the Folk Fest since 2001. He will also be one of four instructors at the Winnipeg Folk Festival Music Camp, which takes place July 6-9.
