TORONTO - Gordon Lightfoot, Drake and Carly Rae Jepsen were honoured at the SOCAN Awards on Monday.

Lightfoot, 75, received the organization's lifetime achievement award at an industry gathering at the Westin Harbour Castle.

Drake, meanwhile, took the global inspiration award, accepted on the Toronto rapper's behalf by collaborators Noah (40) Shebib and Boi-1da.

Jepsen was honoured alongside "Call Me Maybe" co-writers Tavish Crowe and Josh Ramsay with the international achievement award.

Other winners included Chilliwack's Bill Henderson, who received the special achievement award, and national achievement award honouree Ian Thomas.

All the winners received SOCAN's new trophy, a Sabian-designed bronze prize that doubles as a real musical instrument.

SOCAN stands for the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada. The organization represents the Canadian performing rights of songwriters and publishers.
