Italian rocker bringing Cuban sounds to town

Italian rock star Zucchero is coming to Winnipeg for an intimate concert at the West End Cultural Centre March 21.

Tickets are $35 and go on sale today at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster, the WECC, Music Trader and the Winnipeg Folk Festival Music Store.

During his 40-year career, Zucchero has worked with a host of rock royals, including Eric Clapton, Brian Wilson, Bono, Buddy Guy, Sting, Brian May and B.B. King. He's toured with Joe Cocker and Miles Davis and sang with Luciano Pavarotti and Tom Jones. He's performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival, where he played with Little Richard.

Zucchero will be touring in support of La Sesiòn Cubana, which was recorded in Havana in 2012 with some of Cuba's best musicians.
