THE JP Hoe Hoe Hoe Holiday Show -- the hugely popular annual holiday show mounted by local singer/songwriter JP Hoe and a rotating cast of musical friends -- has become a tradition for many Winnipeggers.
In fact, the perennial sellout requires bigger digs, which is why the show is moving from its longtime home at the Park Theatre to the Burton Cummings Theatre, for one night only, on Dec. 13.
Tickets go on sale Saturday, Oct. 19 through Ticketmaster and at the Winnipeg Folk Festival Music Store for $24.50 plus fees; tickets for children 13 and under are $19.50.
"My Christmas concert, The JP Hoe Hoe Hoe Holiday Show, is a gathering of songs, mild theatrics, humour and my favourite attributes of the music of the season," writes JP in a greeting card -- er, press release.
"The heart of the concert is a massive band (at least 12 members) and a playful mix of original songs. The music draws from our experience as Winnipeggers suffering through the winters, yet relishing the best of it whenever we get the chance. To me, this is such a chance. Coming together, out from the cold, to share a night of music in a historic theatre."
Concertgoers can expect "engaging winter themes, special guests, bold sets and -- for fun -- a few cheesy holiday special gimmicks."
