The nominees were announced at a news conference Thursday at Air Canada Park.

The winners will be revealed at the awards gala show at the MTS Centre Aug. 18 as part of the eighth annual Manito Ahbee: A Festival for All Nations. The event, which takes place Aug. 16-21 in Winnipeg, also includes a powwow, a trade fair and an educational forum.

Local music legend Ray St. Germain, known to many as "Winnipeg's Elvis," will be honoured this year with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the APCMA gala.
