Man accused in Internet luring case pretended to be Justin Bieber, police allege

TORONTO - Toronto police say a 34-year-old man charged in an Internet luring case is alleged to have pretended to be pop star Justin Bieber.

Police allege the Toronto man extorted a 12-year-old girl through Facebook while pretending to be Bieber.

Investigators say the girl was threatened repeatedly to entice her to perform sexual acts on her webcam.

The incidents were investigated by U.S. law enforcement and their investigation ended up in Toronto.

Police say a suspect was arrested Wednesday while allegedly trying to meet an officer under the guise of a 14-year-old child in Toronto.

A police news release says Lee Moir faces charges that include luring a child under 16, invitation to sexual touching, making child pornography, and extortion.

Police say several fake profiles were used on Facebook under the identities of Lee ONeel, Justy.beber1, and Yodayoda001.
