Sounds like September

Tons of new albums set for release this month

The leaves are beginning to fall, which means a fall flurry of albums will also be dropping.

There is new music coming from the latest summer sensation Carly Rae ("Call Me Maybe") Jepson to the ageless troubadour Bob (Call me Zimmy) Dylan. Also this month you can expect the latest from A-listers Dave Matthews Band, Matchbox Twenty, No Doubt, Nelly Furtado, Ben Folds Five, Taylor Swift, Pink, the Tragically Hip, Green Day, Mumford & Sons and the Killers.

Here's a quick look at 25 albums scheduled for release in September along with a list of other notable albums available before the month is out.

Of course, all these dates and titles are subject to change.

SEPT. 4

Animal Collective: Centipede Hz
It's almost impossible to know what to expect from the New York-based experimental psych-rockers whose 2009 album, Merriweather Post Pavilion, earned a place on many critics' Top 10 lists that year.

Cat Power: Sun
Chan Marshall ditches the mope and moves in a pop direction on her new album aided by French dance producer Phillipe Zdar.

Matchbox Twenty: North
It has been a decade since Rob Thomas and those other guys in the band released an album, but don't expect many sonic innovations from the Florida pop-rockers.

Bob Mould: Silver Age
The former Husker Du/Sugar frontman ditched the electronics on his new solo album and revisits the heavy pop-rock vibe of Sugar's debut, Copper Blue.

Propagandhi: Failed States
Getting older has only sharpened the opinions, observations and musical attack of the Winnipeg thrash-punk quartet, whose newest album is being released by respected American label Epitaph.

The Sheepdogs: The Sheepdogs
The scruffy Saskatoon retro rockers attempt to build on the buzz they received last year after winning a Rolling Stone magazine cover contest.

Stars: The North
The North is the sixth album from the Montreal-based indie-popsters and shouldn't be confused with the Matchbox Twenty album with nearly the same name.

SEPT. 11

A$AP Rocky: LongLiveASAP
Hot on the heels of his much acclaimed mixtape, LiveLoveA$AP, the Harlem rapper releases his first studio set as part of a reported $3-million deal with Sony subsidiary Polo Grounds Music.

The Avett Brothers: The Carpenter
The North Carolina alt-country trio again enlists the services of go-to producer Rick Rubin for the follow up to their 2009 breakthrough, I and Love and You.

Billy Talent: Dead Silence
The Toronto pop-punk outfit ditches the numerical sequencing of their first three albums on what could have been Billy Talent IV.

Dave Matthews Band: Away from the World
The acoustically-inclined jam-pop outfit releases a new studio album to add material to its growing list of live albums.

Bob Dylan: Tempest
American folk icon Bob Dylan releases his 35th album during the 50th anniversary of the release of his eponymous debut.

Nelly Furtado: The Spirit Indestructible
The Juno winner returns to singing in English following the release of the Spanish album, Mi Plan, further mining the dance-pop territory she explored on 2006's Loose.

St. Vincent and David Byrne: Love This Giant
Ex-Talking Heads frontman David Byrne teams up with indie-rock songstress St. Vincent (Annie Clark) on a set of horn-infused art-rock tracks.

SEPT. 18

Ben Folds Five: The Sound of the Life of the Mind Out

The Sound of the Life of the Mind Out is the first album by the clever piano-pop trio in 13 years. It was funded by a PledgeMusic fan-driven campaign.

Carly Rae Jepsen: Kiss
The "Call Me Maybe" hit-maker will finally get the chance to prove if she can avoid becoming a one-hit wonder.

Pink: The Truth About Love
Album number six from the tell-it-like-it-is pop-rocker dishes the dirt on love, lust and loneliness, just like albums one through five.

The Killers: Battle Born
The Las Vegas rock band fronted by Brandon Flowers returns following a short hiatus.

The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion: Meat and Bone
Expect more sleazy, greasy garage-blues-RNR on the guitar-guitar-drums trio's first album in eight years.

Wiz Khalifa: O.N.I.F.C.
The sophomore effort from hip-hop artist Wiz Khalifa features a guest list that includes the likes of The Weeknd, Pharrell and 2 Chainz.

SEPT. 25

Deadmau5: Album Title Goes Here
Days after announcing he was taking a break, the Toronto-based producer known for wearing a giant mouse head costume announced a new album with contributions from Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance), Imogen Heap and Cyprus Hill.

Diana Krall: Glad Rag Doll
Vancouver jazz vocalist Diana Krall teams up with producer T Bone Burnett on a collection of music inspired by the 1920s and '30s.

Green Day: Uno!
After two concept albums, the pop punk trio up the ante with a series of three albums -- Uno!, Dos! and Tre! -- set to be released over the next five months.

Mumford & Sons: Babel
Anticipation for the British folk group's sophomore effort is running so high the album's pre-sales numbers earned it a top spot on the iTunes chart.

No Doubt: Push and Shove
The ska-reggae rock band is back together for their first album since 2001's Rock Steady.
