U of M's frosh festival all over the musical map

  • Print

MIXTAPE titan Childish Gambino, a.k.a. comedian/Community star Donald Glover, will join a disparate lineup of other acts at University of Manitoba Stadium this weekend as part of Frosh Music Festival, "Canada's largest student-run music festival."

The two-day event, which runs Friday and Saturday, will also feature performances by electro-pop outfit Dragonette, Montreal electro-funk act Chromeo, Atlanta-via-Nigeria rapper eLDee, up-and-coming Nigerian hip-hop artist Rukus, Winnipeg hip-hop collective the Lytics and country acts Emerson Drive and Tim Hicks.

How's that for genre-spanning content?

Music starts at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday and goes all evening.

Tickets are $35 for students, $50 for non-students and are available in advance at U of M, Red River College and Université de Saint-Boniface campuses, as well as at froshmusicfestival.ca. Ticket purchasers must be over 18.
