A guitar wizard, a Persian fusion duo and a man with a thousand songs are among the artists playing the West End Cultural Centre in the new year.
Canadian guitar virtuoso Don Ross will bring his latest album Upright and Locked Position to the WECC on Feb. 15 with 23-year-old Australian singer-songwriter Daniel Champagne in tow. Tickets are on sale now for $20 in at Ticketmaster, the WECC, Winnipeg Folk Festival Music Store and Music Trader.
On March 1, concert goers will experience the unique music of Moody Amiri. Amir Amiri (santur) and Richard Moody (viola) combine their respective Persian and Western classical training to fuse traditional Persian music with jazz, classical and Indian influences. Tickets go on sale Dec. 7 for $20 at the ticket vendors listed above.
Celebrated Newfoundland singer-songwriter Ron Hynes -- a.k.a. the Man With a Thousand Songs -- will perform at the venue the following night, March 2. The seven-time East Coast Music Awards winner has had his songs covered by over 100 artists, including Emmylou Harris, Valdy and Christy Moore. Tickets go on sale Dec. 7 for $25 at the locations listed above.
