Americas Cup English Billiards Open Comes to Winnipeg August 24-29 World Class Players to compete for coveted Americas Cup and over $12,500.00 in prizes Winnipeg, MB - Winnipeg`s Americas Cup English Billiards Open Committee is pleased to announce to Winnipeggers and Manitobans that the America's Cup English Billiards Open is coming to Winnipeg this summer! This world class tournament will be a first for Winnipeg, Manitoba and Canada. The event is the inaugural Americas Cup English Billiards Open and the first International Pro/Am English Billiards event ever to be held in Canada. This August 24 to 29, the best English Billiards players from around the world will converge on Winnipeg and compete in this prestigious event for over $12,500.00 in prizes and the highly prized Americas Cup. The Americas Cup Champion from this tournament will receive an automatic entry into the 2013 World English Billiards Championship which takes place annually in different countries around the World. The event itself will be hosted in the Billiards Room at the historic Manitoba Club, western Canada’s oldest private club. This 110-year old facility, and its fabled antique snooker tables, will provide a dramatic backdrop and welcome the World’s finest players! A local association, the Veteran English Billiards League (since 1921), along with the World English Billiards Association, Canadian Billiards & Snooker Association and the International Billiards & Snooker Federation are all connected to this event. As event hosts in 2013, the Americas Cup English Billiards Open Committee is committed to creating a first class player and spectator experience.
