I do... take two

Remarriage has been called "the triumph of hope over experience."

Fewer than one percent of Canadians will tie the matrimonial knot more than twice, according to Statistics Canada -- but for those who do, planning a second (or third, or more!) wedding can present some unique tangles.

Do "mature" brides wear white? How about a veil? Are showers and gifts necessary for repeaters? Should you invite the ex, the former in-laws?

If you’re planning on retying the knot in the near future, tell us how you’re doing things differently this time around.

Or if you've already gotten back on the connubial horse, share your advice, tips, horror stories, faux pas, awkward moments and other cautionary tales.

Share your personal experience or opinions on encore weddings in the comments below, or by emailing carolin.vesely@freepress.mb.ca. We’re looking for input from both same-sex and opposite-sex couples.
