Dear Mike,

I have had this toy race car for many years. It is a copy of a 1950s Indianapolis race car. It is made of tin and measures 46 centimetres long. There is some wear on the toy from when I played with it as a child.

Have you ever seen this car before and what do you think it would be worth today?

-- Charley, Winnipeg

Dear Charley

This car happens to be one of my favourite toys. It is modelled after the real car driven by Troy Ruttman, who won the Indy 500 race in 1952. It was called the Agajanian Special.

Your toy was made in Japan by the Yonazawa Toy company. It is very desirable, owing to the size and its intricate parts.

The value of your car in the condition it is in -- providing it is complete -- would be $1,200 to $1,400.
