If your house were on fire, heaven forbid, what's the one item contained within that you would try to take with you? (People, pets and computers not included.)
My children's baby photo albums. I have two sons, Connor, 10 and Ryder, 7. They are my whole world! Couldn't imagine life without them. Each year on their birthdays, I love to pull out the baby photo albums and we look at them together. They grow up too fast!
What's the one clothing/fashion item you can't live without?
I always wear earrings, usually a pair of pearl studs. They're the last thing I take off at night and the first thing I put on in the morning... then coffee. Not sure why it is, but I always have them on. Maybe I hope they will distract away from my large ears.
What's your favourite knick-knack and why?
I don't have any knick-knacks in my house, but I do have trophies, medals, awards, plaques, you name it, from my boys' sports accomplishments. Both boys play hockey (my older son's team, the 9A1 St. Boniface Seals, won the city championships this year). Both have competed at the US Open Karate Tournament in Disney, where they both won first place. They both have been successful in Muay Tai, judo and jujitsu, winning a number of tournaments.
What's the oldest thing you own?
My nonna's ring. I was very close with her. I am Italian and spent a lot of time with her, cooking, going to church, and shopping. She is one of the smartest, strongest most beautiful women I have ever met. She passed away from cancer just after my first son was born and I miss her every day. I wish my sons would've had a chance to get to know her. She used to wear the ring that I now have on her pinky finger. I only wear it on special occasions (because that's how she would want it ), but whenever I do wear it, I smile.
Describe your most beloved piece of furniture.
Our orange leather sofa. I've always wanted an orange one. I'm not sure why, but I've always been a little edgy when it comes to decorating, clothing and taste in general. My lovely husband was kind enough to let me paint the walls of the kitchen in our first house orange! It was a disaster, but he pretended he liked it. We now have neutral walls and an orange sofa.
Is there an edible item we'll always find in your pantry or fridge?
Hot sauce/salsa. I try to eat clean and healthy, but chicken, brown rice and broccoli can sometimes get a bit bland. I started adding hot sauce -- really hot, hot sauce -- for some variety and loved it. Now it's a staple in my house. The hotter the better!
