Shaarey Zedek Shabbat Morning in Honour of the Jewish National Fund with Avrum Tzuk, Congregation Shaarey Zedek, 561 Wellington Cres., Jan. 18, 9 a.m. Aviram Tzuk was born in Israel. After his military service, he acquired a BSc and later, his MSc in agronomy from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 2005-06 he studied natural resources and forest management at CSU-Colorado. Torah L'Chayim, 12:45 p.m. with Mr. Tzuk leading a discussion about the topic.

Festival of Prayer, Crescent Fort Rouge United Church, 525 Wardlaw Ave., Jan. 19, 7:30 p.m. City-wide Ecumenical Worship Service with church leaders to open the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Reception to follow.

Havdallah and Movie Night, Temple Shalom, 1077 Grant Ave., Jan. 25, 7:30 p.m. Another fun movie night, presenting Keeping the Faith. It's a story about a rabbi and a priest, two friends who fall in love with the same woman. The film stars Ben Stiller, Edward Norton and Jenna Elfman.
