Fashion awards to honour Beker

  • Print

TORONTO -- Longtime fashion and media maven Jeanne Beker will be honoured at the first-ever Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards.

The Fashion Television Channel host has been named as the recipient of a benchmark career award at the inaugural gala early next year.

Beker was host of Fashion Television for 27 years before the groundbreaking style series was cancelled last year. But she's maintained an active presence since with several endeavours including her work with the Fashion Television Channel and as creative director of her own fashion line, Edit by Jeanne Beker, which launched in 2010.

Beker's previous design credits include a clothing line for Eaton's in 2001 and a line of bodywear sold at Sears Canada in the fall of 2003.
