I am typically one to reserve the glitz and glam and sparkle and shine for the holidays, but with all the lacy, sheer and sleek silhouettes and other feminine embellishments, I'm willing to break this rule.

It's not so hard really when you take a look at the latest collection from Vintage Bling -- The Great Gatsby collection.

Inspired by the elegance and opulence depicted in the movie and designed with every-day wearability in mind -- The Great Gatsby collection adds a hint of luxe and glam to any summer's eve ensemble.

"The art deco era is my favourite design era for everything, but especially the jewelry," says Vintage Bling designer and owner Dayle Goertzen. "This collection may have been inspired by the movie, but it is really a tribute to the era -- elegant and classic."

Elegant and classic indeed -- they are the perfect pieces to add a bit of sparkle to a sheer jewel-tone maxi dress or lovely lace sheath.

Fashionistas out there would have to agree that adding a bit of glam to a flirty summer dress, such as a pair of drop earrings or a flapper-style necklace to a pair of high-waist shorts and pretty blouse ante's up the outfits chicness.

And of course, who can resist the Great Gatsby Inspired Hand Jewelry Bracelet -- a super-cute accessory to wear with a slip dress or chiffon drop-waist dress with lace and embroidered embellishments?

The collection is also ideal for brides-to-be looking for something different to wear on their special day than what is available at your typical bridal boutique or jewelry store.

"The brides are already jumping on the collection," says Goertzen. "It offers them something unique, but it's also very current with the movie coming out which has sparked a whole new resurgence of the flapper style."

One item in particular -- the Shimmering Turquoise and Rhinestone Ring -- would make the perfect something blue to wear on the right hand. It's subtle enough that it won't take away from the dress or the wedding ring, but still sparkly enough to add an extra hit of bling.
