MOON ALERT We have the all clear today to shop (whether you spend $10 or $10 million) and make important decisions. The moon is in Aquarius.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

Contact with friends is important to you today. You might feel protective, almost parental. Or you might even feel jealous. Well, who's the kid now? (Even though you feel emotionally open to someone you like, you don't have to lend them money.)

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Very possibly some intimate details of your life will be on public display today. Whatever could this mean? I'm sure it's beyond advertising your brand of toothpaste. A public argument with your partner would be a classic example, especially if one of you wasn't fully dressed.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

Do something today to satisfy your urge to get away from all this. (A chance to get away from all this would be a good choice.) Take a different route to or from work. Visit someplace different for lunch. Go somewhere you've never been before. Talk to people from other backgrounds. Create some excitement!

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Boring details about banking, taxes, debt, inheritances and shared property demand your attention today. (Isn't this fun?) Focus on getting as much done as possible. Later, you'll be glad you did. Even though tension with partners might exist, you're in work mode.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

Today the moon is opposite your sign, and when this happens you have to give a little. You have to compromise when dealing with others. Yes, it's not fair. However, two weeks from now, others will have to go more than halfway dealing with you. How about that?

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Your Virgo heart is thrilled to become more efficient, effective and productive in everything you do today. (Remember Chekov in the latest Star Trek movie: "I can do this! I can do this!") You might also get carried away with a few hygiene details or something to do with home crafts.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

This is a playful day! In matters of romance, you feel particularly emotional and possibly possessive. Regardless of your own sex, you might feel protective to females because your nurturing instincts are aroused. (The moon is overprotective.)

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This is a great day to cocoon at home. You want to fly solo with your favourite movie or book. Nevertheless, a focus on female relatives and a parent is also likely today. You want to feel secure in your family relationships. (Relax, everyone loves you.)

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Communications with others will be more subjective than usual today. You don't want to skip along on the surface of things. You want to get down to the nitty-gritty gut level. Conversations with female relatives will be a strong focus. (Maybe your sister wants to borrow your car?)

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

You're never casual about money. (And why should you be?) Actually, you're not even casual about what you own today because you tend to identify with your possessions right now. You'll take pride in owning something and be reluctant to lend it.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

The moon is in your sign today, which makes you more emotional than usual. But you might also be emotionally demanding. Fortunately, when the moon is in your sign, things tend to go your way. Ask for something that you want; you just might get it.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

Hopefully, you can satisfy reclusive feelings you have by finding solitude in beautiful surroundings. At the very least, hide behind this paper and pretend you're reading the financial section instead of checking your horoscope (and that of your boss, lover and best friend).

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY

Actress Meg Ryan (1961) shares your birthday. At times, you are rebellious, but you are always a revolutionary. This is because you have a strong desire to bring reform and improvement to society around you. You are self-confident and often take on the role of the Crusader. Fortunately, you're convincing as well! Set aside time in the coming year to study something important because it will make a difference in 2014.
