Karina Slobogian

Boutiques and online shopping provide endless opportunities to find something unique to wear.

If you can envision what you're looking for, chances are you will be able to find it with a little hunting. Just ask Karina Slobogian.

"I love Etsy because I know what I want and they are bound to have it or a version like it. I generally have something in mind of what I want like something different but simple. I look at hundreds and there it is. There's always one of something out there with different versions. I like vintage because it's the idea that something has history," Slobogian says.

She was seen outside McNally Robinson wearing a spring turquoise dress paired with vintage accessories and a jean jacket in hand. With the sun setting in the background, some beautiful shots were taken before Slobogian dashed away to see The Great Gatsby.

What she wore...

Dress -- Forever 21

Belt & Backpack -- "They are both vintage and I got them from the online store called etsy.com."

Sandals -- Dolce Vita

Jean jacket & earrings - "The jean jacket is off etsy.com, too. It's vintage DKNY, the site is mostly vintage they also have handmade items."

Why do you like online vintage shopping?

"I love etsy because I know what I want and they are bound to have it or a version like it. I generally have something in mind of what I want, like something different but simple or maybe something with a bird design. I look at hundreds and there it is. There's always one of something out there with different versions. I like vintage because it's the idea that something has history. It's kind of like that theory, that everything's existed before, so if your want something you go on a place like etsy or eBay and you're bound to find that somebody has it or has thought of that same idea already. It's taking advantage of the 'nothing's original concept.' When you think of fashion design everything always comes back around, so it's true that nothing's original, there is always an older version that you like better and going on etsy, and having the Internet capabilities with being able to search something so specific is what I really enjoy."

Fashion essential

"A belt, I just love how they make the simplest dress look more interesting. I have a lot of belts; I cut back recently but probably about 20. All my belts are unique, I have one with a clasp closure, that looks like steam punk."

Style inspiration

"That's a good question, I like seeing what other people are wearing. I don't get anything from magazines but I like to watch old movies, anything with Audrey Hepburn."

Fashion tip

"Think of your favourite item then think about what you haven't worn with it before. Try something new. It helps me not go back to the same things over and over again and it can look so much better when you try it on. It will probably look better then you think."

Do you find the mixture of belts gives you variety in the clothes you do have?

"Exactly, It can go from a dress to a tunic, to a button up shirt. Depending on the weather and wearing it how it's supposed to be worn."
