1. If your house were on fire, heaven forbid, what's the one item contained within that you would try to take with you? (People, pets and computers not included.).
I would try to save my photos. They are not only irreplaceable, but bring back memories to be re-enjoyed and evoke emotions to be felt again. They do honour to those gone lest they be forgotten or their image become vague and less tangible. The other day, I noticed that I am approaching 2,000 photos on Facebook that I have either taken, uploaded, or been tagged in personally because of the small-dog playgroup I organize. Not sure if that many photos means that I have a life, or I don't!
2. What's the one clothing/fashion item you can't live without?
The bohemian in me loves leggings. I am most comfortable within my skin when in leggings and a long flowing top with lots of jewelry. Someone once tried to insult me by saying I dressed like a gypsy, not realizing it was a great compliment and the look I love.
3. What's your favourite knick-knack and why?
I have always had a thing for monkeys, right from the early days of reading Curious George, and the Reader's Digest version of the short story, The Monkey's Paw, through the See No Evil -- Hear No Evil -- Speak No Evil phase, to my new and growing collection of sock monkeys. What can I say? Monkeys make me happy!
4. What's the oldest thing you own?
I have an antique toy sewing machine. Not sure how old it is, but it has been around for at least as long as me (45 years), so it's pretty old. It is a treasure because it reminds me of my Amma (grandmother) and her home in Riverton, where I spent wonderful times as a child.
5. Describe your most beloved piece of furniture.
My favourite piece of furniture is my bed. It's not fancy, but it is the first one I've owned with both a headboard and a footboard, which is something I dearly wanted as child (along with a canopy). Most of all, I love it because it is where I have cuddle time with my dogs before we fall asleep and it's where we wake up. Although now that I have three dogs, I am wishing it was a king-sized bed.
6. Is there an edible item we'll always find in your pantry or fridge?
I always have a stash of Halls Sugarfree Citrus lozenges. I am addicted and the day is not complete until I have two of them at bedtime.
