Coloratura soprano

If your house were on fire, heaven forbid, what's the one item contained within that you would try to take with you? (People, pets and computers not included.

I would not be able to choose, so I would not go back. How could I choose? What would I regret losing the most? I would be devastated to lose our photos.

What's the one clothing/fashion item you can't live without?

A sweater or shawl.

What's your favourite knick-knack and why?

Two swans, made of ceramic with a mother-of-pearl finish. They were given to my parents as a present, made by my eldest sister, who passed away when I was 14 She used to take me to a ceramics store on Osborne Street. I made many knick-knacks there with her teaching me, but these were special. They have long necks and are extremely fragile. I think she must have broken them and started over at least three times.

What's the oldest thing you own?

We have some fossils. I have boys and my eldest really loved dinosaurs. We bought them near Drumheller, Alta.

Describe your most beloved piece of furniture.

An inherited sewing table. It is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship with carved oak compartments.

Is there an edible item we'll always find in your pantry or fridge?

Fridge: apples. Pantry: Rice Krispies.
