Nyg*rd Fashion Show

  • Print

Electric blue, sequins and leather stood out at the recent Nyg*rd fashion show at the company's outlet on Kenaston Boulevard.

The introduction of the new Nyg*rd pants, Slims, which compress the hips, sculpt the butt and create a taller silhouette has broken sales since the launch at the show.

Nyg*rd International founder Peter Nyg*rd, in an interview prior to the show, said he was excited what his customers were going to think about the collection and was surprised on how many small and extra-small sizes are now in production.

"Pants are out, Slims are in." Was the last thing he said after the end of our conversation.

Three days prior to the show I had the privilege of being a fit model for the pants and found out first hand if they were everything they said they were.

The Slims fit snug. I found the ankle, or leggings, Slims worked well for fall wear, fitting inside your boot or hugging your leg and stopping right before a high heel.

The higher waist in the boot-cut or straight-leg designs makes you think it should be dressier, yet the fabric feels too comfortable makes you think otherwise. I would treat these Slims similar to wearing a typical legging, but you won't need to worry about covering your backside.

The durability and weave of the fabric makes them strong and are definitely not see-through. The different colours are fun and whimsical. It's a great pant to have in your closet with lots of versatility, and with a Nyg*rd donating a dollar to breast cancer research with every purchase, they're worth a try.
