TALKING during the movie, while occasionally fun if done right, will probably earn you a place in a special level of hell. Using your phone during a movie is even worse. Theatre chain Cinemark wants to train away this behaviour with positive reinforcement by rewarding users who turn off their phone during the movie.

To get your rewards, install the free Cinemark app and activate CineMode before your movie starts. If you don't use your phone, you rack up rewards points. If you do, those rewards are forfeit. Pretty simple. Obviously, the rewards are only good at Cinemark theaters, though as the No. 3 national chain, there should be plenty of people who can find a use for them.

If you're interested in skirting some ethical lines, though, one SlickDeals user reports you might not necessarily need to be at a Cinemark theatre or even in a movie to earn points.
