How to have a yourname@yourname.com email
Many times when I log into Facebook with my dave@thedavidbell.com email address, people ask me how they can get an email like that. Really it's quite simple. The first thing you have to do is go to a domain-selling site -- the best one is GoDaddy -- and search for a domain name that you desire. Once you have that domain purchased (costs about $10), head over to Google Apps. This is a tool that is powered by Gmail. It allows you to run your domain name through the Gmail platform. Once you have filled in all your information, followed the steps that Google provides -- you're set! The only thing you have to wait for is your server propagating. All this means is that Google is connecting with GoDaddy to make sure everything is correct. This process can take one to 48 hours. Now that you have your cool domain, you are basically cool.
Official iPhone 5 design, industrial designer comments
LAST week I skipped out on the whole writing tech articles thing, and interviewed a young entrepreneur instead. So, I didn't talk about the unibody iPhone 5 design that was leaked. Anyway, from what it looks like, the iPhone 5 will be like this: two-toned, larger screen, smaller dock connector, faster, fewer dropped calls. Sounds perfect to me.
"Basically, the top and bottom stainless steel U brackets will act as the iPhone 5's cell antenna, just as they have in the past two iterations of Apple's handset. The only difference in the company's next device will be the side steel pieces, which are being replaced by one big piece of aluminum/stainless steel (it's unclear from the photos what material Apple used)," reported TechnoBuffalo.
The new iPhone 5 will feature a unibody back plate, similar to the original iPhone, which launched in 2007. Don Lehman, an industrial designer, commented on the design of the iPhone 5 and why it looks this way.
"It's about refinement and functionality, a big reason why Apple chose not to start from scratch." Lehman comments on the unibody design, saying it's a "stronger, lighter and thinner iPhone." The screen on the iPhone 4 has been notoriously known for breaking... a lot. It's rumoured that on the iPhone 5, the screen will utilize a technology known as Gorilla Glass. This will make the iPhone 5's screen much more durable. Lehman also went on to answer the question: If Apple is going to use the unibody styling, the back of the iPhone isn't one big piece right? "The reason the back of the device is still made up of a few different pieces of metal and glass as opposed to one unibody piece is the antennas. Antennas for the most part do not transmit signals through metal. The cell antenna is integrated into the metal case, but there are still separate Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and (potentially) NFC antennas to deal with. They need to transmit their signal through non-signal-blocking materials such as plastic or glass. That was why the original iPhone had a black plastic piece at the bottom of the case, why the 3G/3GS's back was made entirely of plastic, and why the 4/4S's back was made entirely of glass," Lehman says.
Samsung Exynos 5 dual mobile processor
In Winnipeg, the Android community has picked up substantially over the past year. However, a lot of people don't even know what an Android smartphone is. To explain it quickly, Android is an operating system design by Google, which is utilized by hardware manufacturers such as Samsung, Motorola etc. Android is Apple's biggest rival. On Friday, Samsung began to give some details on its new Exynos 5 dual processor. This processor is really powerful, and will be used on all Android smartphones and tablets.
The chip's specs are: 1.7GHz quad-core processor, very sharp 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, USB 3.0, and much more. This is an awesome processor for the reason that it offers USB 3.0, which will make Android tablets have an extra edge over the iPad. Samsung has not given exact details of when to expect this processor, but I will keep you guys updated!
