A student-exchange program in Dijon, France, has brought Arnaud Fautre to Winnipeg for the past three months. He's studying hospitality back at home, and here he's been working in a family-owned restaurant, where he has learned a new language and experienced another culture. Along with this, Fautre has picked up a few style tips; one difference he's noticed between France's styles and ours is our diversity of culture that sets us apart. "Everyone has a different style here, depending on your background, and I think that's interesting because we don't have that kind of culture style diversion in France."

Button-up-shirt and flip-flops -- "The shirt is from H&M in Dijon, France."
Tank top -- "It's from Undiz, which is an English brand from France."
Shorts -- Hollister in Winnipeg
Watch -- Fossil
Bag -- "Bag is Calvin Klein, bought in France."
Fashion essential
"Watches. I think a watch for a man is like jewelry for a girl. I have a lot of watches, probably about 15 back at home. I only brought four with me to Winnipeg. When I go out, I always have to have my watch on me. I have different colours so I co-ordinate the watch to what I'm wearing; it looks good and adds to the outfit. I love my bag as well; I can't go out without my bag. I've travelled to Italy, Spain, Canada -- went everywhere with this bag."
Style inspiration
"I like to read magazines like GQ and I'm inspired by people around me. I've found that in Winnipeg, people like to be simple in how they dress, especially the guys. I've seen a lot of them wearing tank tops and shorts where in France we wouldn't do that. We would add a shirt or other accessories to the outfit. I like adding my own touches to pieces like neckties, belts and watches. The brand names also inspire me, because I like the quality and the sophisticated look they give off. I study hospitality in school and we have to dress a certain way, so I think the classic style has carried through to my casual looks and outfits."
Fashion tip
"I think it's important to get the right size of clothes for your body. Get clothes adjusted and tailored so the garment sits well. Don't buy XLs when you're supposed to be a medium."
