Some MTS customers in Fort Rouge and Fort Garry lost their service over the weekend after network cables were cut during a water-main repair.
MTS said in a release that city crews accidentally cut the connection Saturday while repairing a water-main break, affecting almost 1,000 customers within the boundaries of Pembina Highway, Waverley Street, Bishop Grandin Boulevard and McGillivray Boulevard.
MTS reported its crews are working to restore service but due to the extent of the damage and extreme cold, no time was given for the completion of the work.
MTS wireless services are unaffected other than one cell site, the company said.
