Alcohol use suspected in deadly car crash

A 29-year-old man is dead after hitting a tree in Bissett early Sunday morning.

RCMP said the accident happened about 3:30 a.m. on Antonio Street in Bissett, 230 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg. Police arrived on the scene and found a car in the ditch that had hit a tree. The 29-year-old driver was found dead inside the vehicle, police said in a press release.

Two passengers, a man and woman, were inside the car and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The accident is under investigation. RCMP said alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor in the fatal crash.
