Winnipeg police said this afternoon that a reported sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl Tuesday morning now appears to be unfounded.
The girl said she was walking on Ness Avenue near Sturgeon Road at 9:20 a.m. when a cyclist in his 60s on a grey mountain bike inappropriately touched her, then fled the area.
"Further investigation has led investigators to the conclusion that the incident is in fact unfounded," Const. Jason Michalyshen said. "Investigators would like to thank the public for their assistance."
