Apology isn't enough for robber to avoid arrest

  • Print

A regretful robber was arrested early this morning at the scene of his crime when he returned to apologize.

The man said he had a weapon when he tried to rob a gas bar in the 700 block of Keewatin Street at about 2 a.m. but the clerk refused to comply. The suspect left in a vehicle.

Police were still at the scene meeting with an employee when the suspect returned to apologize to the clerk.

A 44-year-old man from Winnipeg has been charged with robbery and is in custody.
