WINNIPEG - You ain¹t seen nothing yet from Randy Bachman and Fred Turner.
The former members of Bachman-Turner Overdrive are reuniting for a new album and tour in 2010.
"It feels pretty incredible. It¹s the old getting on a bicycle thing. We got in the studio this week and it was like, wow, no time had ever passed. It was really good. We¹re having a lot of fun," Bachman said at a press conference in Osborne Village Tuesday.
Because of legal issues surrounding the old name, the pair will tour as Bachman Turner. The duo is in the process of recording about 16 songs for a new album. They hope to have the record finished in January and are organizing a world tour next year.
Their first show will be at the Sweden Rock Festival in Norje, Sweden on June 12. Their only other confirmed date is at the High Voltage Festival in London on July 25. A local show will be announced in the new year.
"The great part about it is we¹ve got new songs. That's the kicker. That's what brought me back. I was retired for five years and I thought, 'It's over. This is done, just enjoy yourself (and) go fishing.' I'm surprised to be back. It's like being reborn. It feels really good," Turner said.
Bachman and Turner formed Bachman-Turner Overdrive in the early 1970s after Bachman left the Guess Who. They went on to sell millions of albums on the strength of hits like Takin' Care of Business, You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet and Hey You.
