Basement suite fire sends man to hospital
A late-night fire in a North End apartment block has sent one man to hospital.
Emergency crews were called to 242 Machray Ave. around 12:40 a.m. for a fire that started in a basement suite.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service said one man is in hospital in stable condition.
Damage to the building is estimated at $10,000, with another $2,000 in damage to the building’s contents.
A closet in the basement suite is being investigated for the cause of the fire.
