Beer vendor robbery puts victim in hospital

A man is in hospital after being robbed outside a beer vendor early Sunday morning.

Police said the robbery took place at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Marion St. A man, 19, who’d just bought beer at a vendor was confronted from behind by a stranger who demanded his wallet. He pushed the victim to the ground.

The victim fled to his vehicle and realized he’d been injured in the upper body. His wallet was stolen and he’s in stable condition, police said Monday.

The police investigation continues.
