Big winners announced in HSC lottery

WINNIPEG -- A man from La Salle is the new owner of a custom-built Maric home, a new Mercedes SLK 300 and $10,000 in cash.

Richard Nitchie won the top prize, the Millionaire Lifestyle prize, in the Health Sciences Centre Lifestyles Lottery. The prize is valued at more than $1.26 million.

The other two big prize winners were: Edward and Velna Matias, of Winnipeg, winners of the Falcon Lake Lifestyle prize, which includes a custom-built Maric cottage, a 24-foot pontoon boat and $5,000 cash, total value more than $895,000; and Clint Baran and Lila Swan, winners of the Super Car and Cash early bird prize of a 2010 Audi R8 and $10,000.

There were 4,250 prizes awarded in the HSC Lifestyles Lottery. A complete list of winners will be published Dec. 9 in the Winnipeg Free Press and on-line at www.HSCLifestylesLottery.com

All prize winners will be notified in writing by the professional services firm KPMG.

The lottery raised more than $3 million, which will be directed to enhancing patient care and medical research at the Health Sciences Centre.
