Blizzard warning for Red River Valley

A blizzard warning has been issued for Winkler and Morden and the RM of Stanley.

Environment Canada says the storm that passed through southern Manitoba will continue to play havoc in the Winkler-Morden areas.

Northerly winds of 40 km/h gusting to 60 km/h will result in poor visibility with blowing snow.

Environment Canada says the weather will result in poor driving conditions across the Red River Valley.

In other weather-related news, the Trans-Canada Highway has been reopened between Headingley and Portage la Prairie, the provincial highways department has announced.

The Trans-Canada Highway had been closed west of the city for most of the day because of poor road and driving conditions.
