A man's body was found at the University of Manitoba on Monday.

Police are trying to identify a man found dead on the University of Manitoba campus today.

The man, whose name and age are still unknown, was found just after 1 p.m. by a passerby in the first 100 block of Chancellors Circle.

The man appeared to be dead, but paramedics took him to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say they are still working to identify the man, but U of M spokesman John Danakas said the school has been told there were no preliminary signs of foul play.

The university is closed until Tuesday and classes don’t resume until Wednesday. Only a handful of students remain in dorm rooms over the holidays.
