Bombers main workout camp to begin June 2

In just over two weeks, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be put through the paces of another training camp.

The CFL club announced details of its 2012 camp this afternoon.

After medicals and meetings Saturday, June 2, the club will begin full workouts at Canad Inns Stadium the following morning. All practices and workouts will be at the Polo Park facility; all times are subject to change.

Before the main workouts start, quarterbacks and CFL newcomers will participate in a short, three-day rookie camp. That opens Wednesday, May 30 and wraps up Friday, June 1.

The Bombers will play two exhibition games during the training camp schedule. The first game takes place against the Montreal Alouettes at Molson Stadium Thursday, June 14. The second and final preseason game is Wednesday, June 20 against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Canad Inns Stadium.

Winnipeg opens the regular season Friday, June 29, when they travel to Vancouver to take on the B.C. Lions in a Grey Cup rematch.
