Bombers sign WR Marshall

WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are getting down to fixing their football team.

The club added its first new talent of the offseason on Thursday, agreeing to a contract with wide receiver Vincent Marshall (5-8, 170, Houston) an import who played five games for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2008.

Marshall finished with nine catches for 145 yards in five games in ’08, his biggest game coming in the Riders’ spectacular come-from-behind win over the Bombers in the Banjo Bowl.

Marshall had five receptions for 98 yards in that win over the Bombers, including a fourth-quarter touchdown grab from then-Rider QB Michael Bishop. The 26-year-old can also return kicks and was last seen in the camp of the Calgary Stampeders last season.
The Bombers made room for Marshall with the release of receiver Otis Amey.
