Bones found on bank of Red River identified as area resident

Skeletal remains discovered along the shores of the Red River north of Selkirk last week have been identified.
The RCMP said an autopsy conducted Wednesday conclusively identified the remains as those of a 64-year-old woman who lived in the area.
Police said foul play is not suspected; they did not release the woman's name.
The bones were first discovered late in the afternoon of March 31 by a local man who was riding his ATV near Highway 4.
An additional bone was found the next day by a member of the media, which prompted the RCMP to conduct a broader search of the area.
Police said all the bones were identified as those of the woman.
