Brian Bowman is looking to put his legal career on hold and take over the mayor's office this fall.
The Winnipeg lawyer announced on Twitter this morning that he is officially entering the race to be the city's next mayor and will register on Tuesday.
The civic election is slated for Oct. 22.
"We need new generation leadership for a stronger #Winnipeg. Registering as candidate for Mayor tomorrow AM," he tweeted out today.
He is a lawyer with Pitblado Law, specializing in privacy, access to information, social media law, intellectual property and technology matters.
Bowman has resigned from several boards as a prelude for his entry into the campaign.
